Welcome to C Watson Design.com

The examples contained within this webpage are only a few of the types of work that I am capable of creating, so if you have a need for a type of work you don't see, please feel free to contact me (courtney at cwatsondesign.com) and ask. Chances are I can show you some examples of other media, like mechanical drawing or flash animation. These are types of work that I CAN do, but don't have many samples, and don't warrant a page by themselves.

I went freelance in the summer of 2008 after a bad experience with an employer, and decided I could provide high quality work to small businesses at a better price than the firms I have worked for, and at a better wage for myself. Perhaps you came across this website from one of the many freelance networking websites out there - while I still accept work from the others, I have found that I prefer the security features of eLance.com and have begun to focus my online project searches to that particular website.
If you were referred by one of my clients in Dallas, Houston, or Austin, Welcome! No doubt they've told you how easy it is to get exactly what you are looking for at a great rate.

Here are just a few quotes from satisfied clients - my goal is to make ALL of my clients AT LEAST this happy.

I have recently found that I sometimes cannot handle my workload alone, and have contracted Jennifer Ihrig, photographer, graphic designer, natural media artist, and a Creative Writing graduate from the University of Houston to do all my copy writing, and some of my overflow graphics work as she is just as capable a designer as I. Any of the works you see that required photography or lots of photo retouching are her handiwork.

What you can expect from C Watson Design co:
To start, every job I undertake begins with a consultation with you, the client. I spend some time discussing (either over the phone, in person, or via email or instant message) your needs, goals, and get an idea of your target demographic, and allow you to tell me your vision of the end product.
From this conversation, I figure out how to go about doing the work and estimate about how long I expect the job to take. I'll then present you with a detailed proposal containing time estimates, milestones, and fee breakdown. I'll ask for you to review it and agree to it as a binding business contract.
Then I get to work and design a few concepts which I will then present to you for your review.
I advise all my clients to take a look at them, show them to all the people involved in the decision making process, sleep on it, and then look again. (It's amazing what you will think of overnight) and then decide which concept or individual elements from different concepts you think work best, and what you would like to see done differently.
Then it's back to the drawing board, and I create a new concept (the super concept) which I will again present to you for approval or revisions. I'll repeat this process until you see exactly what you are looking for.

It sounds a little complicated, but this is the only real way to get the perfect design. I am a firm believer in lots of communication and keeping you involved. After all, these designs are not for my use, they are to promote and build your business, and you deserve every courtesy and chance to provide input and direct your company's interests.

I look forward to hearing from you soon!
Courtney Watson

gaspedal productions    ray's windows   office of urban renewal

UPDATE 4/29/09:  As I explore Flash a little more, I have found that it is more efficient to display my work with a flash generated slideshow. It's sleek and more functional than the Java script I was using before.
